Our mission is to:

  • Collaborate with communities, health and care providers, and third-sector organisations to tackle health and social care challenges and inequalities through applied health research.
  • Ensure that the public and local communities are at the heart of our research to shape health and social care.
  • Support the use of evidence and innovation to benefit individuals, communities, workforces, and health care systems.
  • Create a vibrant, inclusive infrastructure that fosters the careers of researchers and builds skills and capacity within the health and care workforce to be evidence-informed.
