What is Research Inclusion?
Research Inclusion means making our research accessible, fair and representative of the diverse communities across the East of England. We aim to reduce barriers, amplify under-heard voices, and ensure that research truly serves those who need it most. Research Inclusion is now a key condition of NIHR Funding.
Why should research be inclusive?
All NIHR research should benefit all people in society and fulfils everyone's right to health and social care. If research is not designed and conducted inclusively, research will not serve those most in need.
Research Inclusion in the ARC East of England:
- We are committed to working together to ensure research is open to all communities, individuals and those historically excluded from research and those not often involved.
- We are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- We will co-create research evidence to understand barriers to inclusion to embed inclusion principles, methodologies and practices.
