The ASCENT Team has developed a new self-guided tool called ‘I am interested in Research!’ to help social care staff explore how they can get involved in research.
Whether you are curious about how research can improve your work, interested in helping with someone else’s research, or thinking about carrying out your own research, this tool is a great place to start.
The tool provides three pathways to support your research journey:
- Using research in practice: Learn more about the value of using research evidence to inform your practice.
- Getting involved in research: Explore ways to participate in or shadow other people's research.
- Doing your own research: Find out more about conducting your own research.
See and use the 'I am interested in Research!' tool below:
The tool provides a brief introduction to the world of research and helps users explore different ways to get involved from using research in their work to taking part in research or conducting their own. Users can work through the content at their own pace and explore the topics most relevant to their interests and experience. Exploring all three pathways takes about 15 minutes.
We are especially grateful to the five practitioner-researchers who provided valuable feedback during the development of this tool.
