Profile

Eunice Ann Doctolero

Research Fellow

Eunice Doctolero, a dedicated Renal Research Nurse at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, brings nearly four years of expertise to the field. With a rich nine-year history as a qualified nurse, Eunice's proficiency extends across haemodialysis nursing and paediatric critical care.

Her commitment to advancing healthcare is underscored by her recent completion of a university module on basic research in 2022. This academic pursuit has not only expanded her knowledge but also equipped her with a deeper understanding of research methodologies crucial to her role as a Renal Research Nurse.

As a Renal Research Nurse, she plays a pivotal role in facilitating the delivery of both local and international studies. Her involvement extends to projects funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), encompassing both commercial and non-commercial research studies.

Eunice's  study focuses on identifying and examining key aspects of the needling process relevant to haemodialysis nurses' care delivery during this procedure on dialysis patients. It aims to pinpoint areas for improvement, inform targeted training programs, and enhance the overall needling experience for patients. Given the limited existing research in this area, the study also seeks to recognize the emotional and psychological dimensions of the nurse-patient interaction during the needling procedure, thereby contributing to the holistic well-being of both healthcare workers and recipients of care.
