Earlier this year, the NIHR ARC East of England entered its next phase with a £15.3 million award from the NIHR for the period April 2026 to March 2031. Hosted by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, we are working in partnership with five regional universities (the Universities of Cambridge, East Anglia, Essex, Hertfordshire, and Anglia Ruskin), alongside Health Innovation East, NHS Trusts, Integrated Care Systems, local authorities, patient‑led organisations, charities and industry partners. Together, we are delivering applied health and care research that improves outcomes, experiences and access to care across the region. Our research is designed to be scalable nationally, enabling it to benefit many more people.
To celebrate our launch, we developed an animated video that introduces ARC East of England’s mission, the challenges we aim to address, and how our partnerships help turn research into better care. The animation highlights the key themes of our work, from tackling urgent health and care issues to reducing inequalities, supporting the workforce, and ensuring our research leads to real‑world change. The video provides us with a clear and accessible way to explain what we do and the impact we hope to achieve across the region and beyond.
As we begin this next phase of ARC East of England, we look forward to working with our partners, communities and the wider health and care system to turn research into meaningful change. The animated video is just one way we are sharing our mission and demonstrating how our collaboration strives to improve health and care for all all.
