We are pleased to share the release of the NIHR ARC East of England Impact Summary 2026, which showcases the impactful and collaborative research delivered across our themes and workstreams. This year's summary demonstrates how ARC East of England is responding to the needs of our communities, health and care systems, and national health and care priorities. It also marks a significant milestone as the first phase of NIHR ARC East of England comes to an end.
The summary highlights case studies that showcase the diversity of our research, our alignment with the Government's Fit for the Future, and the strong partnerships that are crucial for our research to have meaningful impact. Together, these examples demonstrate our commitment to research that strengthens the sustainability of local health and care services while improving outcomes for patients and the public.
Alongside the studies featured in this booklet, we are proud to celebrate a number of achievements from the past year. These include securing £14.1 million in external research funding, supporting eight PhD students who successfully completed their awards this year, and collaborating with more than 200 partner organisations across the region.
This Impact Summary demonstrates how we work with communities, health and care services, and partners across the region to understand and respond to local and national priorities. Through our research, we generate evidence that informs decision-making, improves outcomes, and supports more equitable and sustainable health and care services.
