Professor Chris Fox, an ARC East of England researcher who is an Honorary Professor at the University of East Anglia and Professor at the University of Exeter, has been appointed an NIHR Senior Investigator for his outstanding contribution to research.

NIHR Senior Investigators are among the most prominent and prestigious researchers funded by the NIHR. They are outstanding leaders of patient- and people-based research within the NIHR research community. NIHR Senior Investigators receive funding for four years to support their research activities and undertake a senior leadership role to guide the NIHR strategy.
Professor Chris Fox leads a number of projects at the ARC East of England, which focuses on enhancing the experiences of people living with dementia and their carers while also promoting healthy ageing. His research interests include utilising AI and technology to enhance the delivery of healthcare. This includes the NIHR-funded TIMES study, which is developing and trialling a tailored tool to meet the sleep needs of people living with dementia, and the five-year SPLENDID project exploring how social prescribing can be optimised to ensure it is truly effective and beneficial for individuals living with dementia. Other projects include the InfLAIM study, SPINNET, the DiSCOVERY Study and PERFECTED.
Chris has a background in healthcare, with a particular focus on mental health and dementia care, having managed a memory service. His experience in these areas has shaped his research career, leading him to specialise in these fields.
