Title: Digitally Enabled Care in Community Neurology: Experiences, Inclusion and Lessons Learned

Digitally enabled care has recently been introduced within the Community Neurology Service at East Coast Community Healthcare, aligning with wider NHS priorities around digital transformation. The changes were developed collaboratively and shaped by feedback from patients to support an inclusive approach to service redesign. While service data provides insight into how the changes are working operationally, less is known about how they are experienced in everyday practice.

This project explores the experiences and perceived impact of digitally enabled care within a community neurology setting. It aims to identify the factors that support or prevent engagement with digital pathways, including potential barriers to equitable access, and to understand how these changes are experienced by patients, carers and staff.

The project will use a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative service data with qualitative feedback from stakeholders.  The findings will inform practical, co-produced recommendations to support the continued development of inclusive digitally enabled care within the service. The learning from this project will also support other services across the organisation as they undertake similar digital transformation, providing practical insights into how digital changes can be implemented in an inclusive and patient-centred way.
