The PERFECTED project demonstrated it is feasible to run a clinical trial in an acute setting and found the PERFECT-ER intervention could be implemented successfully. But the study team conclude that the design and delivery of care for hip fracture patients living with dementia in the acute setting is complex suggesting a ‘wicked problem’ with no single solution.
