Professor Claire Goodman leads the national ARC network of researchers working with care homes. Claire is a district nurse by background and a Fellow of the Queen’s Nursing Institute. In April 2016 she was appointed a National Institute of Health Research Senior Investigator.
Her research focuses on the health and social care needs of the oldest old, including those affected by dementia and living in long term care. She leads the NIHR funded DACHA study (Developing research resources And minimum data set for Care Homes' Adoption and use). Claire is currently leading the Cross-ARC Care Home Network, which has over 100 members.
In 2024, Claire was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to older people.
