Ewen Speed

Researcher

Ewen Speed is a Professor of Medical Sociology at the University of Essex and a researcher in NIHR ARC East of England’s Palliative and End-of-Life Care and Prevention and Early Detection in Health and Social Care theme.

Ewen joined the ARC East of England in October 2019 and was the Co-Lead for the former Inclusive Involvement in Research theme.

He has been a researcher at Essex for over 15 years, publishing and researching changing relationship between the state and citizens the provision of health and social care, as an aspect of democratic representation and participation. He also has a research profile in the areas of health policy and critical mental health.
