Raj Mehta is an experienced NIHR public contributor with significant involvement in ARC infrastructure research across several ARCs.
He joined the Digital Technologies to support social wellbeing of community dwelling adults in receipt of social care and their carers (DiTSoW) Research Advisory Group as a public collaborator in October 2022 and has been working with the BLMK project team since June 2024.
Following his retirement from senior leadership roles at BP, Raj draws on his lived experience to inform and strengthen his contribution to research. Blind since early life and living with Myasthenia Gravis and CIDP, he brings a unique intersectional perspective to his work.
Raj is a strong advocate for equity, inclusion and co production. He serves as an advisor, non executive director and trustee to several charities, including organisations supporting visually impaired people, promoting independence, employment and inclusive community living.
