Anne has been a public contributor to the Digital Technologies to support social wellbeing of community dwelling adults in receipt of social care and their carers (DiTSoW) project since 2022. She joined this group as she has always been interested in technology and runs her own web site called Being the Boss which she updates regularly. Anne has also been involved with Voluntary Action Leicester where I taught older people who to get the best out of their phones, iPad etc.
As a person who receives a social care package and a full time wheelchair user, Anne can see the value of technology in people’s homes and the use of iPhone watches to alert support if a person has a fall.
Past and present governments have failed to fund social care adequately and are keen to see more use of technology. Whilst Anne feels this has a place it should never take the place of people.
