ARC EoE Public Engagement Research Assistant Vacancy

We are looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant to provide research and engagement support. The role will involve maintaining and creating new links with partners and communities in our ongoing public engagement work.

FTE: 0.6fte working 22.2 hours per week

Duration: Fixed term for 6 months

Salary: UH5 £24,461 to £27,511 pro rata depending on skills and experience

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire

This is an exciting opportunity to maintain existing links and foster new relationships and networks with partners and communities across the East of England (EoE) region, to include ‘populations in focus’ (PIFs) in Stevenage, Peterborough and Fenland, Thurrock, Great Yarmouth and Waveney.  

This role is based within the NIHR ARC EoE Prevention and Early Detection in Health and Social Care (PEDHSC) theme but is intended to facilitate research involvement, engagement, collaboration, co-production, and dissemination across all ARC EoE priority themes (see https://arc-eoe.nihr.ac.uk/).  You will gain valuable knowledge and experience of research engagement at local and regional levels that may influence health, wellbeing and service development for communities in the East of England.

You will be based within the Centre for Research in Public Health and Community Care (CRIPACC); travel may be required across the East of England for collaborative activities

You will support the research team in achieving the project milestones, including attending project meetings and assisting with project administration. You’ll handle data collection and analysis, contributing to the design and organisation of the project and contribute to research papers and presentations.

The successful applicant will publicise and promote the activity relating to the ARC EoE and more specifically to work within the Prevention and Early Detection in Health and Social Care priority theme with the aim of including communities who are not often, or not consistently included in research. The post involves designing and maintaining a database to facilitate the collation of information. You will also promote the work of the PEDHSC research theme and the wider ARC EoE research programme.
