Health, Care or Voluntary Sector Role: Commissioning Manager
Supporting Organisation: Thurrock Council
I have worked in social care for nearly 25 years and I am still passionate about the difference it can make to people lives.
I love using new knowledge/findings to change and improve how we deliver support and care. Ultimately, I want people to live the best life they can and see research as fundamental in achieving this goal.
About Sarah's fellowship project
Title: Ageing without Children
The health and social care system is built on the premise that service users will have families that are able to support and/or advocate for the person in need of care. However, due to demographic changes, the reality is that many more people will not have these circles of support. The impact of more people Ageing Without Children is not widely recognised or understood and would benefit from further research.
