Programme support for fellows

The NIHR ARC EoE provides various mechanisms of support to the fellows.

Support available to the fellows includes:

  • Webinars: Information sessions for applying candidate (including Q&A)

We will host information sharing sessions for prospective candidates, to support them to complete the application process.

  • Teaching sessions

Fellows are equipped with fundamental skills required to deliver on the Fellowship programme.

  • Action learning sets

Action Learning Sets are on offer to fellows to support them alongside their peers with common problems, and to facilitate shared learning. The groups support finding practical solutions to problems.

  • Project clinics

Fellows will have the opportunity to attend drop-in project clinics. The project clinics, run by senior academics, will offer fellows a space to receive additional and complementary project support outside of standard supervisory session.

  • Fellow cohort presentation sessions

Fellows will have the opportunity to attend, and present, at in-person presentation (e.g. 3-minute thesis) events throughout the programme. These events create a supportive and informal setting for what may be one of the fellows first academic presentations. This event will support meaningful networking, collaboration, and academic discussion. The careful placement of the presentation in the programme timeline helps encourage fellow project progress.

  • Programme support

NIHR ARC EoE Academic Career Development Coordinator is on hand to support both fellows and academic supervisors throughout the programme. They are a single point of contact for anything related to the programme.

  • Mid- and end- point check-in

The NIHR ARC EoE Academic Career Development Coordinator offer fellows mid- and end- point check-ins to pro-actively identify any areas of concerns related to Fellow progress/ likelihood to complete, and identify learnings for future programmes.
