Health, Care or Voluntary Sector Role: Head of Public Health Evidence and Intelligence
Supporting Organisation: Bedford Borough Council
I am the Head of the Public Health Evidence and Intelligence team at a local authority, with over 15 years of experience in public health programs and data analytics. I have a strong passion for leveraging data to drive innovation in health and social care, ensuring safe and secure use of collected information. My goal is to enhance service efficiency by utilising the right data and insightful products to inform decision-making.
This research fellowship offers an opportunity to gain specialised skills in data analysis, epidemiology, and research methodologies. For me as an analytical lead, these skills are crucial, as they enhance the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights that can inform public health policies. As part of this fellowship, I have desire to improve security and utilisation of public health data sets, which will allow better use of data to contribute directly to the enhancement of population health.
About Anu's fellowship project
Title: Establishing minimum requirements for public health databases in Local Authorities: A Delphi Study
The lack of standardised requirements for public health databases leads to inconsistencies in data collection, reporting, and usage across public health teams in local authorities.
Establishing minimum requirements for public health databases will create a standardised approach for securely processing and analysing resident data. This is crucial for protecting residents' privacy, maintaining the integrity of healthcare systems, and improving the overall quality of care.
The aim of this study is to make recommends for a minimum requirement for public health databases in Local Authorities through a Delphi Study.
