
Dr Jyo Kumar is a Senior Advisor at Health Innovation East. She provides knowledge mobilisation and implementation support to researchers within the ARC East of England, alongside colleagues Ben Jackson, Sarah Robinson and Danielle Tucker.
Jyo began her career as a mental health and neuroscience researcher and holds a PhD in Psychiatry from the University of Nottingham. Following a period working in academia, she moved into research and development roles within the NHS, focusing on the management and delivery of studies in mental health and community care settings.
At Health Innovation East, Jyo works within the consulting team on a diverse portfolio of projects, with a focus on translating evidence-based innovations into practice across health and care systems. She is particularly interested in implementation and change management, supporting dialogue and fostering strong working relationships between colleagues from academia, industry, and the health and care sector. She also has a strong interest in health equity and the inclusion of underrepresented groups in research. Alongside her role, Jyo maintains active academic collaborations and volunteers with Mental Health Research UK.
