Philip Linnegar is Chief Executive Officer of Hertfordshire Hearing Advisory Service, a registered charity supporting adults who are hard of hearing or profoundly Deaf and use British Sign Language as their main aid to communication. He is a Trustee two charities - Phoenix Group for Deaf Children, and the National Association for Patient Participation.
Philip is currently an Implementation Fellow in the ARC East of England. He aims to reduce the health inequalities and ‘barrier fatigue’ experienced by Deaf people in primary care settings, by developing a practical use of Video Remote Interpreting, VRi, to support clinicians, administrators and patients. The implementation also includes the development of a Deaf Patient Participation Group, linked to the Friends Of Bennetts End Surgery PPG that Philip chairs.
