Codrin is a Physiotherapist and Joint Team Lead for the Acute Medical Therapy Team - Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn (QEH). Throughout his career as a physiotherapist, he found that hospital deconditioning is a reality that needs addressing by more than just one profession and for which there is not one solution or a silver bullet. To ensure that the people looked after at the QEH are getting the highest level of care, a cohesive multidisciplinary approach is needed. Codrin's ARC Implementation Fellowship project is building on previous work around identifying barriers to mobilisation of patients in the QEH and is about implementing an intervention that would address one or more of these barriers. With the help of the ARC facilitators and speakers and empowered by their experience he is hoping that this intervention will start a lasting cultural change towards nurses and healthcare assistants taking pride in preventing and fighting hospital deconditioning by ensuring that, where appropriate, they consistently and systematically support the people in their care with their mobility needs.
