University of Cambridge NHS health data consent survey (CLIMB)

Health data is information collected in the NHS that can be used to provide care, such as medication records, blood tests, and scan results, and sometimes also for research to improve care for others.

Summary

Researchers from the University of Cambridge worked with service users and carers from Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Foundation Trust to find out how people would like healthcare data to be shared, with whom, and what consent processes should be in place to protect them. The survey was open from February to September 2020. It was anonymous, meaning that people taking part could not be identified. More than 29,000 people from across the UK responded to the survey about sharing health data. The results of the survey can be found here
