Knowledge Mobilisation

Knowledge mobilisation is the process of ensuring that the right knowledge, derived from research, experience, and practice, is available, accessible, and used effectively by the right people to improve health and social care outcomes.

Knowledge Mobilisation (KM) involves translating and integrating evidence into practice, facilitating communication between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers, and adapting knowledge to meet local contexts and needs.

In the Summer of 2024, National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) awarded ARC East of England £560,000 (as part of its £7.8 million investment to enhance knowledge mobilisation capacity and capability) over the next three years.

Building on the success of the working relationships between Health Innovation East and ARC East of England, this funding will enable us to advance our efforts in creating deep and meaningful engagement with communities and our health and care systems led by Danielle Tucker as our Academic Knowledge Mobilisation Lead.

The ARC East of England will support knowledge mobilisation (KM) that strategically encourages ARC researchers and ARC applied research to share their findings with diverse communities to create new knowledge and co-designed solutions, driving meaningful change.
