The COVID-19 crisis has added substantially to the quality and safety challenges of maternity care, including those relating to organisation and delivery of care, clinical management, and deepening of inequalities. One promising means of addressing these challenges involves leveraging the capabilities of routine data from electronic health records to create a learning health system.
THIS Institute invites applications from experienced quantitative researchers to build an initial, early form of a learning system for maternity care that would be of immediate value during the pandemic and lay the foundations for further development of a full-scale system. This work should ideally provide the basis of a scalable model for developing learning healthcare systems in the NHS.
The fellowship is suitable for applicants who are currently in post at UK universities and are available to work as soon as possible on this award. The successful applicant will remain employed by their own university, and will be part of THIS Space, the vibrant professional learning community supported by THIS Institute.
