Cardinal: Research includes: (1) De-identification of clinical records for research, including the CPFT Research Database; linkage and linkage methods; natural language processing to extract structured data from the free text; methods to support recruitment through re-identification subject to consent. (2) Patient- and clinician-facing structured data capture for clinical and research purposes. (3) Epidemiological research and prediction tools, including at the interface of physical and mental health. (4) Patient and public engagement including public views on NHS/HSC data sharing. (5) Computational psychiatry including computational modelling of mind/behaviour in psychiatric disorders and models thereof. Clinical roles include: (a) consultant general adult liaison psychiatrist; (b) chair of CPFT Clinical Design Authority and clinical lead for EPR re-procurement. Current funding: MRC Mental Health Data Pathfinder award (2018–2021).
