Lisa Franks is based the University of East Anglia (UEA) and is a Senior Research Associate in the Mental Health Over the Life Course theme. She is currently leading on the development of research on perspectives of good life with family carers of children with complex needs.
She completed her PhD in Social Anthropology at the University of Kent and her MA in Anthropology of Development at Goldsmiths College. Before joining UEA, she worked in public health research, as an ESOL teacher, and as a freelance writer. Her research interests are in the sociology of healthcare delivery, health migration, ethnographic research methods, and the philosophy of care.
