Laura Tan

PhD

Laura Tan joined the NIHR ARC EoE theme of Measurement in Health and Social Care (formerly Population Evidence and Data Science) in October 2020. She is doing a PhD in Public Health in the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) and School of Health and Social Care in the University of Essex. Laura’s research interests include social epidemiology, longitudinal study, and sociology of health. She is investigating the associations between stress (e.g., unemployment) and health (e.g., cardiovascular disease) in deprived areas of the UK, including the Great Yarmouth and Waveney, Peterborough and Fenland, Stevenage, and Thurrock in the East of England, with the use of secondary data.
