Dr Guy Peryer is Director of Education and Research for St Christopher’s Hospice in London and a researcher in NIHR ARC East of England’s Palliative and End-of-Life Care theme.

Guy’s research career at at the University of East Anglia (UEA) began in 2009 and he has since held a range of posts in FMH, including  as a Lecturer in Applied Health Sciences. In 2017, he joined the NIHR ARC East of England as a Research Fellow from which he has led an impactful research programme around compassionate communities, including a secondment with St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds. Guy has also led a research group for UEA Health and Social Care Partners investigating methods to expand community involvement in palliative and end of life care.  In 2019 Guy was awarded an NIHR Advanced Fellowship to research and mobilise death literacy knowledge across non-clinical community networks in the East of England. Guy is a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, a Chartered Scientist with The Science Council, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts.
