David Wellsted is a Professor of Applied Health Science at the University of Hertfordshire and a researcher in NIHR ARC East of England’s Prevention and Early Detection in Health and Social Care theme.
David is the Head of the Health Research Methods Unit in the Centre for Health Services and Clinical Research at the University of Hertfordshire. He has been an active member of the NIHR East of England Research Design Service since its inception in 2008, and has led the Hertfordshire group since 2003. David has actively contributed and led externally funded health research projects totalling more than £11 million. His work has a particular focus on mental health among people living with long term conditions, and on measurement within a health context.
