Caroline Barry

Researcher

Dr Caroline Barry is a consultant in palliative medicine and clinical associate professor at the Norwich Medical School.  She is also the palliative care lead for the East of England Regional Research Delivery Network.  She specialises in neuro-palliative care and is a director of the Norfolk Motor Neurone Care and Research Network.  She is an experienced clinical leader in palliative care who has undertaken system transformation roles as clinical director, managing director of a palliative care provider collaborative and clinical advisor for palliative care to Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board.

Her research interests lie in the management of progressive neurological conditions, both in addressing symptom management, and also addressing the methodological and cultural challenges to the inclusive of people who may have communication and/or cognitive challenges in clinical research.  She joined ARC in 2025 as a research fellow, having originally undertaken a CLARHC fellowship in 2016.
