Allison Bentley

Research Associate

Allison has a background in community nursing (district nurse and Parkinson’s nurse specialist), with a PhD exploring living and dying with Lewy body dementia. Her previous research experience includes working as a study co-ordinator across East Anglia for a NIHR funded project ‘DIAMOND-Lewy’, which aimed to improve the diagnosis and management of Lewy body dementia (Parkinson’s disease dementia, and dementia with Lewy bodies). During this time, she was awarded a CLAHRC fellowship, which led onto her PhD exploring the everyday experiences of people living with Lewy body dementia, and their family supporter using a dyadic longitudinal narrative approach.  He academic interests include community, dementia, and long-term conditions palliative care, with a special interest in narrative research. She is currently a senior research associate at the University of East Anglia, working with the ARC East of England Mental Health over the Life Course theme.
