My name is Sunny Saini and I live in Grays part of Essex. I’m one of the 5 Directors for Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions. Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions provide services for customers and friends. Our vision is.
"A world where disabled people live with no barriers and have a positive community experience, their individual aspirations are met and they have total choice and control."
Thurrock Lifestyle Solutions have coproduced services to improve business. For example, I lead on 3 monitoring action groups:
- Projects,
- Health and wealth (this include health survey)
- Training.
I also advise on Online Stay Safe, and help people write action plans to stay safe. Here’s a video of my colleague Neil Woodbridge and I talking about coproduction: Is Coproduction an Empty Ritual?
I am a member of an independent advisory group with the police. I am also a hate crime ambassador. I speak up for others when they need some support, and help others to keep safe.
In my spare time, I love to DJ. Also, I like swimming, cricket, karate, and football. Playing Xbox games
Being part of the Inclusive Involvement Advisory Group gives me chance to input into different areas. I like to share my ideas. I’ve learned how to do coproduction in research. I want to share with others how they can use choice and control in their organisations, to make a positive difference.
It’s been interesting to learn about different research and the kinds of help I can give to improve research. For example, I have advised researchers on Easy Read materials so that more people can understand and contribute to research. It is important to give control back to people so that they can help shape services.
