I’m Peter, I live in Norwich and I have a background as a long term recipient of mental health services as well as living on welfare benefits, which was hard. I am now co-chair of the national disabled people’s organization Shaping Our Lives and work part-time at the University of East Anglia. I have worked in grassroots community organisations a lot in the past which was good because you got to work with lots of good people. Now I do more writing and research and I want to do those in ways which are accessible to lots of other people and which involve people and their lived experience. I also like making things and love old motorcycles. We have a garden now, for the first time in my life and I love watching the flowers come. I am not so keen on winter. It is great being involved in the Inclusive Involvement in Research Advisory Group.
