Jessica Blake

Research Fellow

Jess is a Specialist Neurological Occupational Therapist and ARC East of England Research Fellow. Jess works at Caroline House, a Level 1 neurorehabilitation unit for people with complex physical needs following brain injury.

Jess has worked a dual role as a clinician and researcher throughout her career and is keen to bridge the gap between practice and evidence. To date, she has been involved in researching end of life care transitions from hospital to home, research efficacy in care homes (DACHA), and tailored sleep management for people living with dementia (TIMES).

As part of the fellowship, Jess aims to explore and improve how healthcare professionals support families of brain injured patients when they have expectations of recovery that conflict with clinical opinion.
