Joshua Gallagher

Position: PhD Student in Public health (University of Cambridge)

Joshua Gallagher is a member of the Cambridge Palliative & End of Life Care Group with an interest in public health approaches to palliative and end of life care. He is currently undertaking a PhD in Public Health and Primary Care looking at practical ways to engage communities in palliative and end of life care provision for ageing and populations with multiple long term conditions. At the end of his PhD research, Joshua aims to design a palliative and end of life care intervention that can be implemented across the East of England, with special attention to Populations in Focus.

Before joining ARC East of England, Joshua completed an undergraduate degree in Philosophy at the University of Essex, a Master of Public Health at the University of Tsukuba in Japan, and an MSc in Social Anthropology & Japanese at the University of Oxford. His previous public heath experience includes working for the WHO and implementing primary care and community interventions among GP practices in South Tyneside. Joshua additionally holds research positions at the End of Life Studies Group, University of Glasgow and the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Department, UCL.
