Diana Gorog

Professor Diana Gorog is a Consultant Cardiologist and Clinical Lead for non-Cancer Research. She holds academic appointments as Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Hertfordshire and Visiting Professor at Imperial College. She qualified in Medicine at St Bartholomew’s Medical School, London and undertook cardiology training at the Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, Royal Free, St Thomas’s and St Mary’s hospitals. In addition to clinical training, she undertook 2 dedicated periods of research, leading to a postgraduate MD from the University of London and PhD from King’s College London, the latter funded by a British Heart Foundation fellowship. She is an interventional cardiologist and actively engaged in research with a special interest in thrombosis and preventing heart attacks in at-risk patients. She has published >150 peer reviewed international papers and is serves on the editorial board of a number of cardiology journals including the European Heart Journal, Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis. She is also a member of the Nucleus of the Working Group on Thrombosis of the European Society of Cardiology.
